After almost six months since the launch of GIOVE-B, the workshop will provide a glimpse into this second experimental Galileo satellite in-orbit-verification and early experimentation.
In particular the workshop will focus on GIOVE-B new navigation signals and on the in orbit performance of the Passive Hydrogen Maser, highlighting the benefits the spacecraft is providing to the overall validation of the Galileo development.
The workshop will also address the excellent performance and health status of the first Galileo satellite, GIOVE-A, whose mission has been extended one year beyond the nominal lifetime of 27 months.
The many important experimental lessons obtained in the field of clock characterisation, orbit estimation and prediction, sensor station characterisation, MEO radiation environment characterisation, will also be addressed.
