The International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) has been very successful in deploying the International Aerospace Quality Standard AS/AN/JISQ 9100 throughout the global supply chain, and using it as a platform for its steadily growing Industry Controlled Other Party (ICOP) certification scheme. Until the creation of the Space Forum in 2003, there was no mechanism to reflect the needs of the space community in these initiatives. The paper will review the achievements of the IAQG Space Forum with respect to next revision of the 9100 standard and other IAQG initiatives of specific relevance to space, like the ICOP QMS certification scheme and the 3rd party certification of special processes. In its four years of existence, the IAQG Space Forum has also stimulated the cooperation of the key space quality players within their respective regions, and provided a unique international venue to exchange quality experience.
