This intervention will present:
Full and partial developments cost applications in the launcher domain.
LPDCM presentation (Use of Powerpoint)
- ESA/ESTEC functional specification.
- Conception process: Elaboration of technico-economic database, choice of parameters, nominal and alternative technologies, application limits, cost revisions.
- General architecture.
Launcher systems: LOX/LH2 stages, LOX/HC stages, LOX/LH2 GG or SC large engines, LOX/HC GG or SC small engines, large SRB, small SOB, VEB, Upper structures, Prime activitie.
Systems processed at n-1 or n-2 PT levels: System activities, Combustion Chamber, fix or extendible nozzle, LH2 pump, LH2 turbine.
Five main activities: Design engineering, Production engineering, Tools, Prototypes, tests
Detailed tasks for design engineering: Conception/definition, Functional, Physical, Mechanical.
- Partial development approach.
Modified and no modified sub-systems.
Team Fraction scale related to change severity: no influence in the functional up to important technical modification.
- Parametric model
95% of costs estimated from CERs.
Parameters adapted to the sub-system: Thrust, Propellant mass.
General parameters: Duration (Years Nb.), Prototypes Nb., Tests Nb.
- Other functionalities.
- Expected improvements.
Cost estimating demonstrations from LPDCM (Use of Excel).
