The symposium is organized in the framework of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the first Sputnik launch; the intention of the organizers is to dedicate a session of the symposium to the history of space in the past 50 years, with particular focus on Mission Operations, as to draw lessons and motivation for the operation of future missions.

A Technical and Program Committee, composed of representatives from the world’s major space agencies participating to the RCSGSO initiative, will be responsible for organizing the event and selecting the papers to be presented.
