International Symposium "Developing Trends in Public Procurement and Auditing"
Being it of national or international nature, Procurement is often a central tool for Public Organisations to implement the mandate assigned and secure the means required for that implementation.
As such, the efficiency of the procurement process reflects on the Organisations overall functioning. An integral part of the procurement activity is the auditing process linked to it, with a strong focus on the analysis of the cost components of the procurement. This expertise is of particular importance in (international) public procurement.
Not only that requirement of efficiency, but also the very nature of public procurement call for and guarantee a permanent inter-action with and influence from developments in the private sector.
The objective of the Symposium is to review a number of practices in the field of public procurement and auditing at large, to share lessons learnt and to outline a number of recent trends.
The symposium will have various plenary and parallel sessions (workshops) during which more detailed topics will be presented and discussed in an interactive manner.
